We are located on the East Side of the Island of Hawai'i in Kea'au. If you are driving from Hilo allow 25 minutes, longer during rush hour traffic. If you are driving from Kona allow 2 1/2-3 hours, depending on your driving speed and number of stops. We appreciate knowing if you are running late.
Arrival times for the lodging on our property are between 3-6 p.m. This will give you an opportunity to find the property in the daylight, as the roads here are not lit and it can be difficult to find at night.
If you are looking for a nearby bed and breakfasts, we recommend www.artandorchids.com (just down the street). We want to make sure you are comfortable and happy.
Our accommodations on the property are the upstairs suite, the garden room, treehouse, jungle bungalow or the covered campsite.

The suite on our property is small and comfortable. There is a fully-stocked kitchen and indoor bathroom with a shower. There is a queen sized airbed (to prevent mildew...this is the rainforest) and all the linens are provided. This unit is upstairs and there is covered parking at the foot of the stairs. It is perfect for one or two people. The cost for the upstairs suite is $89.00 per night based on double occupancy. There is a $10 charge for additional guests.
The garden room is a bedroom with light and airy view of the property. Twin, double, or queen airbeds with linens are provided. It uses a shared outdoor bathhouse with running water, hot shower and a flush toilet. There is wireless internet available, and a mini-kitchenette with a toaster, refrigerator and coffee-maker. The cost is $59 per night based on double occupancy, with a $10 charge for additional guests.
The treehouse accommodations are for adventurous (not fussy) travelers. It's a real treehouse in a real rainforest. The accommodations include a hot outdoor shower and bathhouse with running water, about a 5-minute walk away. Parking is near the treehouse and prices for staying overnight are $49.00 based on double-occupancy. You will sleep in a full-sized handcrafted ohia bed with a hand painted headboard. All linens and towels are provided. There is also a composting toilet nearby. There is also a rustic outdoor kitchen and dining area just below the treehouse, complete with coolers, counters, double burner propane stove and screened dining area.
For the even more adventurous traveler, we offer the screened bamboo hut, which rents for $175.00 per week, or $39.00 per night. Monthly rates are also available.
We also offer covered, comfortable camping accommodations with air mattresses for $20.00 per person per night. You are welcome to bring your own tent.
All accommodations require a 1-night deposit, and we request a 2-night minimum stay.
Be sure to come prepared. Bring flashlights, bug spray and plan to arrive between 3 and 6 p.m.
All accommodations will be charged the State of Hawaii and Transient Accommodations Tax which comes to 11.16%. Please let us know when booking your reservation if you have a gift card or discount coupon.
